I had the Scourby KJV narration as mp3 files on my iPhone, but playback was cumbersome (books were in alphabetical order). The sound quality is on a par with the mp3 files. I havent explored all the features yet, but the layout is well done. This app is on my home screen. *In my teens I knew people who had the Scourby recordings on records (vinyl LP disks that played on turntables). In my twenties, i bought the New Testament and Psalms recordings on audio cassettes. A few years ago I bought the mp3 files on CDs. Each technology was amazing in its time. The Word is eternal.

I am on the latest version of iOS 8. I am giving it two stars because it used to work last year.

It seems the developers made a fatal error. For some reason they released an update that allowed for full screen viewing and the ability to select verses by pressing the verse numbers. Then they took it all away, really frustrating, and they still have the instructions saying "jump to verse" We have 6 users in our household and we are all very disappointed with this.

In "settings" the check mark doesnt register when changing fonts. And some of the text is missing of the verses while the audio continues reading - IPhone only. With the IPad, when selecting "view" after choosing, book, chapter, and verse the response is slow. Please fix at your earliest convenience. Excellence in ministry is the goal.

You would pay at least that just to get This in audio format, all the rest is a plus!

I have owned and reviewed hundreds of apps, many of them religious and inspirationally based. This is far and away the best of both worlds. Scourbys voice over is the most profound and powerful reading of the Word - that, mixed with the many functions of this clever app, make it worth 10 times the price I paid. I look forward with great anticipation to whatever else these clever folks come out with soon!

This is one of the most comprehensive and user friendly Bible apps that I have used. I had the very first edition of the Scourby Bible App because I grew up listening to him read the Bible on cassette tapes! It now lives on both my iPhone and iPad. I am a busy adult college student working part time with my church as well as working in the military. This app allows me to fill my mind with the word of God outside of my quite time alone with him. Extremely easy to navigate and use, has a great look and a wonderful sound quality. I have set up many playlists within seconds. A handy repeat function helped me to memorize some verses for a class I was taking at THE Ohio State. The team that keeps this app up to date has done an outstanding job. Two thumbs aloft for this app!

Love this app and new features. No audio bible compares to Alexander Scourby reading the KJV bible. No CDs to tote and listen anytime anywhere.

I was fortunate enough to be part of the beta testing team for a previous version of this app. In doing so, I was in constant contact with the development team and through that, I was able to determine that they really cared for this product and wanted it to be as user friendly to those that love the Lord and want to absorb his word into their hearts through this app. After seeing the updates in this new version, I have to say that its even better than the version I beta tested and that the development team continues to listen to the consumers of this product and cares for the way in which it is utilized according to the feedback they receive from the users. The interface of it is easier than ever and the new additions to the UI of the app are great. If youre looking for a great KJV audio Bible app, then you cant do any better than the Scourby Bible app that allows you to see and hear the great truths of our Lords word with ease and great comfort. I highly recommend this app for anyone looking for a KJV audio Bible app. Matthew C.

I love listening to Alexander Scourby read the Bible but I can hear an echo in the background or even someone talking while hes reading. No one in my opinion reads the Bible like he can. I hope this echo can he fixed!! I still give that app. 5 stars!!!! Best Bible App. Out there!!!

Thank you for a great app that has the Bible read to me using such an awesome voice. There is way more to this app than I thought! I am very happy with it.

I use this App regularly it is well laid out, easy to use and most importantly allows one to listen to the word of God anywhere.

Best Bible App This is an extremely useful application with lots of great features. My favorite features are: the ability for the app to fully function offline, and the ability to hear the Scourby voice read to me when unable to read myself (as while driving). Definitely one of my top applications for ease of use, reliability, and usefulness.

This application works great and does so much. It is worth the twenty bucks. If you want to memorize a verse or a chapter or a whole book just go ahead and make it a playlist then endless-loop it. Easy. Read along with the audio while the text automatically advances, you do not have to swipe it. I say thank you to the developers. If you want to learn the Bible then this is the application for you.

Outstanding! This is the audio Bible Ive been waiting for years to get. Its worth every dime I spent on it. Sound quality is superb and features are well done. By far the best all-around Bible app for reading, listening, and memorization. However, as good as this app is, I do have few suggestions for future releases that I wish it could do: 1) allow multiple color options for text highlighting 2) connect a Strongs Concordance like the one in Patrick Franklins Touch Bible (available in iTunes App Store) 3) variable reading speed (sometimes Mr. Sourby goes a little fast) 4) recalculate the one-year reading plan based on the start date and starting point in the Bible (e. g., if I want to start reading at Ezra 4:1 on 5/22/2015, then give me a daily reading plan for the remainder of 2015 covering from Ezra 4:1 through Revelation 22:21; I will start over at Genesis at the beginning of 2016).
